Upon arrival we learned a few things. The venue’s booking agent had not been working there for roughly a month, and didn’t tell the owner about the show. Oh, he also double-booked the night. Sweet, huh?! Luckily, the owner sent a sound guy and bartender to the venue just in case, but we had to make the show free since there wasn’t a door guy. Free shows are rad though, so who cares?! When involved in booking, crazy things happen and you just have to go with the flow.
Kicking off the night was Lesands with a slightly different line-up then I had seen before. They still completely rocked, though. Lesands is one of the tightest bands in southern California, and Austin’s dance moves rule. If you don’t start grooving when listening to their music, there’s something wrong with you (no offense).
After that was Wake Up Lucid, a band that brings the rock. They had a huge crowd come out all the way to Glendale to rock along with them. Wake Up Lucid was very impressive and they played a stellar set. We’re looking forward to having them on future IPGB shows.
Wet & Reckless finished off the night. These girls are amazing. Their onstage banter was great and they were an absolutely perfect way to finish the night. This all female group is edgy, witty, and completely wonderful. They’ll be playing the final day of the Live Music Series this Saturday.
All in all the night turned out great despite the hectic beginning. Can’t wait for the next IPGB show! We’ll be announcing some dates very soon, and we can’t wait to share some news with you!
